A patient has a quick question about a sore spot. Another needs a follow-up after a procedure. A third wants to talk through options before committing to a visit. Not every one of these conversations needs a chair, a drive across town, and a block of time in your operatory.
That is where teledentistry fits. It lets dentists consult with patients virtually when an in-person visit is unnecessary, or as a prelude or follow-up to an in-office visit. For patients, a virtual visit removes travel time and expense, and that convenience increases patient compliance and satisfaction. For dentists, it is a convenient option and an opportunity to grow the patient base, improve patient care, and increase revenue.
Teledentistry That Lives Inside Your Practice Management Software
Through a partnership with Care Pulse LLC, Novadontics offers teledentistry as an integrated part of its all-in-one practice management software. That means virtual visits are not a separate system to manage. They are booked into the same appointment book, documented in the same patient file, and paid for through the same online bill pay that run the rest of your practice.
Getting started does not fall on you alone. A Novadontics team member guides you through a few simple steps in your Software Setup to enable online booking and teledental sessions through Care Pulse.
Three Steps to Set Up Teledentistry
1. Office Setup
For each office in your practice, you enter basic details such as address and contact information. This is also where you set up an account for online patient bill pay, which lets you collect teledental appointment fees through Care Pulse.
Office Setup is where you build your Care Pulse profile, including:
- Amenities
- Technologies
- Procedures and services
- Dental conditions treated
- Teledental consultation fee
- Location
- About the office
- Languages
- Office photos
Everything you enter here automatically appears in your Care Pulse profile. You can make changes at any time, and they sync automatically with the Care Pulse app.
2. Provider and Office Availability
Next, you enter the names of all providers and their availability, along with business hours and non-working days for your office. If your practice has more than one office, you enter this for each location.
This information syncs automatically with the Care Pulse app and feeds the algorithm that shows accurate availability for online booking. Appointments can only be booked at times when offices are open and providers are available. All of this happens behind the scenes, without further management by you or your staff unless something changes.
3. Default Operatory Setup
For Care Pulse to sync with your appointment book, you designate one or two operatories as Care Pulse operatories. Appointments can only be booked if these operatories and the selected provider are available in your appointment book. This is also synced with the Care Pulse app, so online availability stays accurate.
